First Dental Visit

Your first visit with our office is the most important one. It provides us the opportunity to meet and get to know each other.

Establishing a good relationship is essential
to achieving your oral health goals.

For some patients, the initial appointment may be to address a condition you feel is urgent. We will handle your concern first and make sure there is no discomfort.

When there is not an urgent problem, the initial visit will include a thorough examination of your teeth and gums, an oral cancer screening exam, and a review of your medical and dental histories. Necessary digital x-rays will be made to evaluate your teeth for decay or problems around existing fillings, and evaluate the supporting tissues of the teeth.

A visit with one of our wonderful hygienists may also be done at your first appointment. Depending on the health and condition of your teeth and gums, additional preventive treatment may be recommended.

In some instances, when your treatment involves cosmetic changes you desire or reconstruction due to missing teeth or bite problems, it may be necessary to have models of your teeth, bite evaluations, and a complete series of digital photographs made at a separate appointment. Once the information is thoroughly evaluated, time will be set aside for you and Dr. Moss to review all the findings and discuss your treatment options.
